Very serious€500Costs more for alcohol over 0.50 mg/l, drugs and refusing the test — €1,000 — and for a radar jammer — €6,000.

Pay within 20 days of receiving the notice and you pay half. It applies to very serious offences too.

The points still go, in full.
Paying the reduced amount means giving up your appeal.
No discount: radar jammers, failing to name the driver, unpaid tolls, low-emission zones and the general distraction offence.

Manoeuvres and overtaking

Parking and towing

Ordinary parking fines are set by each city in its own bylaw (ordenanza), so amounts differ everywhere — check your ayuntamiento’s website. A dangerous spot, a bus or bike lane and a disabled bay cost €200 by law; they are in the catalogue.

If your car has been towed

A car can be towed if it blocks traffic or pedestrians, or is parked in a disabled bay, a reserved lane, a loading zone, or a paid zone without a ticket or for over three times the time paid.
Fine, tow and pound are three separate bills. The tow and the pound are paid before the car is released; you can appeal afterwards.
The local police will tell you where it is: 092 in many cities, or the Guardia Civil on 062 outside town.
Bring ID, the car’s papers and money to pay. The exact list is on the pound’s website (depósito municipal).

Toll roads

Not paying a toll is an offence of its own, with a fixed amount.

If your car has been towed
