Question 8114

If there are puddles of water on the roadway...

  1. you must accelerate to get through them as quickly as possible.
  2. it is not advisable to take any precautions.
  3. you must reduce your speed.
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: you must reduce your speed.

If there are puddles on the roadway, slow down before reaching them. Driving through them fast can cause hydroplaning and splash pedestrians and cyclists, and if only the wheels on one side hit the water, the steering wheel pulls toward the puddle. If you can do so safely, go around it or let it pass between the wheels.
