What age group do most pedestrians killed in traffic accidents belong to?

75 years old and older.
6 to 14 years old.
17 to 24 years old.

Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: 75 years old and older.

Pedestrians age 75 and older are the group with the most deaths. In 2024, they accounted for 120 of the 320 pedestrian deaths in Spain, more than a third. Vision, hearing and reflexes worsen with age, and being struck by a vehicle causes them more serious injuries.
