Question 7735
One of the most serious problems that negatively affects the driving ability of older people is...
- the reduction in reaction time.
- the loss of vision and hearing.
- that they react quickly in complicated traffic situations.
Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: the loss of vision and hearing.
Declining vision and hearing are among the most serious problems older drivers face. Almost all the information you use when driving comes through your eyes, and with age your field of vision narrows, you notice signs later, and glare bothers you more at night. It also becomes harder to tell where a sound is coming from. And reaction time gets longer rather than shorter.
