Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: By paying attention to pedestrians who are talking on their cell phones.
Someone walking while talking on a cell phone is focused on the conversation rather than traffic and may cross without looking. If you see someone like this next to the roadway, slow down and be ready to brake. In the picture, the woman on the phone starts crossing while the pedestrian signal is red. Flashing your headlights, honking or gesturing for someone to cross does not prevent them from being struck and can cause it.
