Question 7364

While driving through an underpass, your vehicle has a breakdown that does not prevent you from continuing to drive; what must you do?

  1. Turn off the engine and switch on the hazard lights.
  2. Stop the vehicle, get out of it, and head for the exit of the underpass.
  3. Continue driving until you are out of the underpass, whenever possible.
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: Continue driving until you are out of the underpass, whenever possible.

If the vehicle can still move despite the breakdown, do not stop it inside the underpass. Continue to the exit or, if you cannot reach it, to an area reserved for emergencies. Stopping, getting out, or staying with the engine off and the hazard lights on are measures for when the vehicle can no longer move.
