Question 7225
The driver of the yellow vehicle is traveling faster than the driver of the green vehicle; in this situation, is the driver permitted to pass on the right?
- No; in this case passing on the right is prohibited.
- Yes; the driver may pass on the right as an exception.
- No, but the driver may pass using the lane for oncoming traffic.
Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: No; in this case passing on the right is prohibited.
No. The green vehicle is in the left lane, and the yellow one must not pass it on the right, even if it is traveling faster. On a high-capacity divided highway (autovía), you pass on the left, so the yellow vehicle waits for the green one to return to the right. The oncoming lane is not an option, because it is on a separate roadway on this type of road.
