Question 7206
If a vehicle is passing you and the maneuver is going to create a dangerous situation, what must you do, as a general rule?
- Maintain your speed; the problem only affects the vehicle that is passing.
- Increase your speed to prevent the pass.
- Reduce your speed to make the pass easier.
Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: Reduce your speed to make the pass easier.
If the maneuver of the vehicle passing you becomes dangerous, as a general rule, slow down so it can finish and return to your lane ahead of you. Accelerating or maintaining your speed as though it did not concern you leaves it in the oncoming lane longer.
