Question 7141
Every driver is required to...
- facilitate, whenever possible, the merging of other vehicles onto the road on which they are traveling.
- change lanes to allow other vehicles to merge onto the road on which they are traveling.
- yield the right-of-way to vehicles merging onto the road on which they are traveling.
Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: facilitate, whenever possible, the merging of other vehicles onto the road on which they are traveling.
If you are already traveling on the road, you have the right-of-way over anyone entering, but you must help them enter whenever possible, for example by easing off the accelerator or moving into another lane if it is clear. You are not required to change lanes or yield the right-of-way to them.
