Question 6830

What do these signs indicate?

  1. They require driving at a speed below 40 km/h only on a road section through a built-up area (travesía).
  2. It is recommended not to drive at more than 40 km/h anywhere in the municipality.
  3. Driving at more than 40 km/h is prohibited throughout the entire town.
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: Driving at more than 40 km/h is prohibited throughout the entire town.

In the image, the 40 sign is above the sign with the town's name, on the same post. Placed this way, the 40 km/h limit applies throughout the built-up area, except on streets where other signs indicate otherwise. It is a mandatory maximum speed and is not limited to the road section through the built-up area (travesía).
