Question 6476

In view of the sign, may a passenger car drive at more than 70 km/h in the right lane?

  1. Yes, because the left lanes are for vehicles driving at less than 70 km/h.
  2. Yes, because you must drive in the right lane whenever possible.
  3. No, because the right lane is for slow traffic.
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: Yes, because you must drive in the right lane whenever possible.

The blue circles with 70 set minimum speeds for the two left lanes. The right lane has no number, and you may drive in it at more than 70 km/h without exceeding the road's speed limit. Outside built-up areas, you must use the right lane whenever circumstances permit; the others are for passing or when traffic conditions make it advisable.
