Question 6380
When the traffic light turns green, what must you do?
- Obey the traffic light, which takes priority over the stop sign.
- Obey the stop sign.
- Obey the traffic light, but I must yield the right-of-way.
Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: Obey the traffic light, which takes priority over the stop sign.
Traffic lights take priority over posted signs. When the light turns green, you proceed with the right-of-way and do not have to stop at the STOP sign or yield to traffic on the cross street. You must wait only if you would end up blocking the intersection.
