Question 6255

Where must you stop at this intersection?

  1. Before the sign.
  2. Immediately before the intersection, even if you go past the stop line.
  3. At the stop line, without going past it.
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: At the stop line, without going past it.

If there is a solid line across your lane at a stop sign, that is the stop line, and you must stop before it. Do not go past it to stop closer to the intersection. Neither the signpost nor the word STOP painted on the road marks where to stop.
