Question 5141
When approaching a bus displaying this sign on its rear that is stopped picking up passengers, you must...
- reduce speed and, if necessary, stop the vehicle.
- signal your presence with flashes of light.
- always stop behind the vehicle until it resumes moving.
Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: reduce speed and, if necessary, stop the vehicle.
The yellow sign with two children indicates school transportation. As you approach a stopped bus, especially a school bus, you slow down and stop if necessary because a child may cross in front of it or behind it without you seeing them. You are not required to stay behind it every time until it starts moving.
