Question 5070
If you are driving above the maximum permitted speed on the road, you are driving...
- at a speed above the legal limit.
- at a moderate speed.
- at an appropriate speed.
Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: at a speed above the legal limit.
Exceeding the maximum permitted speed, whether it is the road's general limit or a posted limit, means driving above the legal limit, or speeding. That can never be an appropriate speed, because an appropriate speed always stays within the limits. A moderate speed is lower than normal in response to a foreseeable hazard, such as children coming out of a school.
