Question 5009

A driver obtained a category A2 driver's license one year ago and now obtains a category B driver's license. What will be the maximum permitted blood alcohol level?

  1. For one year, 0.3 grams per liter of blood.
  2. For two years, 0.3 grams per liter of blood.
  3. A level not exceeding 0.5 grams per liter of blood.
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: For one year, 0.3 grams per liter of blood.

The two years under the lower limit start with your first license, and getting a category B license does not restart the clock. If you have held your A2 license for a year, you have one more year as a novice driver. During that year, you must not exceed 0.3 g/l in blood in any vehicle, including a passenger car. After that, your limit becomes 0.5 g/l.
