Question 4908
You are driving a truck with a maximum authorized mass (MMA) of 3,000 kg. What distance must you maintain on this section of road?
- The distance that allows other vehicles to pass me.
- 50 meters.
- The safe following distance.
Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: The safe following distance.
In the image, the double solid line prohibits passing. On that section, no one has to leave room to be passed, including the 50-meter gap required for large vehicles. In your truck, you must keep a safe following distance: enough space to stop without a collision if the vehicle ahead brakes suddenly.
