Question 4468

A vehicle is passing you and cannot complete the maneuver safely, what must you do?

  1. Help the vehicle complete the passing maneuver.
  2. Continue on your path as normal, since it is not the problem of the vehicle being passed.
  3. Speed up to prevent the pass.
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: Help the vehicle complete the passing maneuver.

If the driver passing you cannot finish safely, you must help them complete the maneuver. If they continue, slow down so they can move back in ahead of you; if they abandon the pass and brake to move back in behind you, do not brake yourself, and leave them room. Speeding up is prohibited, and carrying on as if nothing were happening leaves you both side by side.
