Question 4434

In view of this signage, are you allowed to drive in the right lane at 90 kilometers per hour?

  1. No, the sign prohibits it.
  2. Yes.
  3. No, because there is no sign indicating it.
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: Yes.

The 70 is painted in the left lane, and a speed painted inside a lane applies only to drivers using that lane. You are in the right lane, where the general speed limit applies. For a passenger car, it is 90 km/h on a conventional road (carretera convencional) and 120 on a high-capacity divided highway (autovía), so you may drive at 90 without a sign saying so.
