Question 4092

A vehicle has an airbag. Is wearing a seat belt required?

  1. No, because the airbag replaces the seat belt.
  2. Yes, because it improves the airbag's effectiveness.
  3. It is recommended, but not required.
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: Yes, because it improves the airbag's effectiveness.

Yes. A seat belt is required even if the car has an airbag. The airbag supplements it and only works properly if the seat belt is already restraining you. Without a seat belt, the airbag hits you as it inflates.
