Question 3997

This flashing vertical white line indicates that...

  1. buses and taxis may proceed.
  2. all vehicles must stop.
  3. buses and taxis must stop.
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: buses and taxis must stop.

The white bar on a black background applies to streetcars and buses on regular routes, but in a reserved lane it applies to everyone using that lane. This lane is marked BUS TAXI, so buses and taxis must obey it. If the vertical bar flashes, they must stop as they would at a steady yellow light.
