Question 3914
What must you do whenever you approach a bus from which children are getting off?
- Reduce your speed, and even stop if necessary.
- Sound the horn repeatedly to warn of your presence.
- Stop until the bus starts moving again.
Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: Reduce your speed, and even stop if necessary.
Children getting off a bus may cross in front of it or behind it, right where you cannot see them. As you approach, you slow down and stop if necessary. You do not always have to wait for the bus to start moving, and honking does not keep a child from crossing.
