Question 2338

What does this sign indicate?

  1. Maximum recommended speed.
  2. Maximum permitted speed.
  3. Maximum mandatory speed.
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: Maximum permitted speed.

The sign sets a maximum speed of 40 km/h: you may not exceed that speed. It is not a recommendation and does not require you to travel at exactly 40 km/h.
