Question 1230

At this intersection with a flashing yellow traffic light, what must you do?

  1. Stop the vehicle.
  2. Use extreme caution and, if necessary, yield to both.
  3. Proceed with caution; the flashing yellow traffic light exempts you from obeying the posted sign.
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: Stop the vehicle.

A flashing yellow light does not cancel the obligation to stop at a STOP sign. You must therefore comply with mandatory Detention even though the traffic light allows you to proceed with caution.
